Weapons

Weapons (also called armaments) are a type of equipment in Elden Ring. Some weapons can be aquired from defeating the enemies using them while others can be looted from dungeons or . A player may equip up to 6 different weapons (3 in each hand) which can be switched on the fly allowing for a variety of different combat styles. Regular weapons may be upgraded at a Smithing Table  to a maximum of +25 using Smithing Stone Shards while special weapons require the harder to aquire Somber Smithing Stone Shards and can be upgraded to a maximum of +10 (see Smithing section below  for more info and locations).

A player may modify regular weapons using Ashes of War while special weapons have fixed properties, unique skills and can't be altered.
